Since Obama is now president-elect of the United States (don't jinx it, kids, if you see anyone planning very bad things, stone them), I promised a reward, and here it is. Some artwork that I misplaced on the internet but have on my compy and a CD somewhere when transferring it from the old compy to the new one long ago. This has nothing to do with Final Fantasy VI. Instead, it's some very early Final Fantasy X artwork. To help me do this, I have gathered some guests to help me.
I
Yama: And here we have what looks like a city on Bikanel, maybe Home if it was populated entirely by dwarves, in a flying bathtub, clearly made by playing too much James Pond. The heroine, possibly Yuna, looks like she has a Princess Leia thing going for her. What do you think, Denicalis?
Denicalis: You suck!
Yama: Oh... kay. Any thoughts on Final Fantasy X?
Denicalis: It sucks! You suck!
Yama: Anyone else have any insight? Since I use the name Yama, I think it gives me permission to say something. You'll come back to me. One by one, you all will.
II
Yama: And this looks like it could be on Besaid, if people on Besaid attached wheels to refrigerators and drove them around.
III
Yama: These guys look strangely familiar for some reason I can't quite identify, and there's Black Mage in the background, obviously planning to Hadouken everyone.
IV
Yama: Some weird hunchbacked giant with wonky arms and a pig-rabite hybrid?
V
Yama: Here we have something that looks like it belongs in Final Fantasy X. Tidus, someone I want to assume became Rikku at some point, and a ninja with white hair and two katanas are attacking the airship. If you ask me, it seems kind of futile, and I'd say the ninja became Auron, if Auron was female.
VI
Yama: You've seen this. It's Lord Mi'ihen slaying a behemoth and struck a blow for Spirans everywhere disgusted with those damn Cererians dumping their unwanted monsters on their worlds. Ever wonder why Behemoths don't appear on the Mi'ihen Highroad? Now you know.
FuSoYa: I resent that remark.
Yama: Of course you do.
VII
Yama: It's Tidus in Macalania Woods setting off some fireworks. His outfit is different.
VIII
Yama: This guy looks like a bad guy, or maybe a high summoner.
IX
Yama: Some cave with a crystal. Maybe this is what was in the Chamber of the Fayth in an earlier draft.
X
Yama: Obviously the inside of a temple. I don't have much to say.
XI
Yama: The outside of Kilika Temple. This must be later than that Mos Eisley place with flying bathtubs in the first one.
XII
Yama: Tidus, Yuna, and Auron. Either Yuna's outfit was really subdued in the final product, or this is a scene from right after the wedding. Also, I think Auron looks like Thom Yorke. I'd so use those outfits in game if Final Fantasy X allowed alternate battle clothing.
XIII
Yama: A temple where a water summon like Leviathan is housed. If you've played, you'll know there were a few non-elemental summons, a fire summon, a lightning summon, and an ice summon, but no water summon.
XIV
Yama: This is the Calm Lands, where you can ride a flying animal of sorts and throw javelins.
XV
Yama: Chocobo knights. I think this drawing was eventually used by the Final Fantasy XII art team.
XVI
Yama: This is the wedding scene.
